she waa united marriage in Middletowa Centre, in the same county. In 1S3G he came to Daven port with her husband, and during the same year the family settled oa tha farm ia Pleasant Yalley township, on which they lived in prosperity and happiness until the day ot Mr. Birch aid's cleatn, twrty-cve years after. She was the mother of five children. One son died early manhood Hon.

Eugene A. occupied the homestead with hi mother until his death in the fall "79; Mrs. Fannie LeMar resides in Georgetown, Colorado Mr. Gcorgie, wife Hugh Garrett of Davenport-, Mr. Net wife ot Samuel Heagy, ot Hamptoa, with whom the mother waa sojourn- ln? when death came to her.

A ister of Mrs. Birchard is living ia Pennsylvania. Mrs. Birchard waa loved and venerated all for her constant charities, her earn kindness in sickness, her nobility of character, her wifely and motherly grace loved by all, regretted by all, who knew her; bet life a constant benediction, may her rest be that ot eternal joy.
