NEWLIN, VICTIM OF CRASH NEAR VIOLA, IS LAID TO REST Anamosa, Dec. 24. Funeral services for Hubert Newlin were held in the Methodist church. Viola Monday afternoon, the Rev. Harry Green officiating.

Mr. Newlin was fatally injureo Saturday evening when the car he drove plunged down a steep em bankment on the road between Fairview and Viola. He died eu route to the Anamosa hospital. His skull has been crushed, his law broken and his face badly lacer ated. He was the son of Howard anfl Rachel Newlin and was born May 30, 19U0.

"When Day Is Done" and "Sylvia" re among the numbers to be played. Christmas Day Programs. French Christmas carols of the eighteenth century and two famous roloratura arias will be sung by Lily Pons, noted soprano, when she is heard with the orchestra and chorus directed by Andre Kos-telanetz over the WOC-Columbia network from 8 to 8:30 p. m. Christmas day.

From 9:30 to 10 p. m. Christmas day, the first of a news series of World Peaceways programs will feature songs by Morton Downey, Correct Answer Will Be Found on Classified Page. The "Scandals" numbers are "I've Got to Get Hot," "I'm the Fellow Who Loves You," "Life Begins at Sweet Sixteen," "Cigaret," "Anything Can Happen," "May I Have My Gloves" and "Tell the Truth." Songs, dances and impersonations by Eleanor Powell, Osgood Perkins as host and sparkling musical arrangements by Freddie Rich's orchestra and the Tavern Singers will be featured over the WOC-Columbia network when the "Flying Rod Horse" program salutes the new year on Friclav, from 7:00 to 7:30 p. m. The musical selections will include "Blow Gabriel Blow," "Will Love Find a Way," a medley of 19.T. songs hits composed of "Love in Bloom," "Lullaby of Broadway," "You and the Night and the Music." and "You're the Top," "Dells- of St. Mary," "Carioca," "The Continental" and "I won't Dance."
